Renowned film maker Karan Johar popularly known as KJo is the new daddy cool in B-town. The director-producer-actor has become the proud father to twins born from surrogacy.

A report from his close ones reveal that Karan was leading a lonely life and longing for his own children. In his autobiography,The Unsuitable Boy,he had mentioned,  "I have been thinking about having a child. It will of course have to be a surrogate child, or I will have to adopt. These are the two options I have in front of me."

Karan opted for surrogacy for fulfilling his dream of becoming a parent and used the social platform Twitter to officially announce the birth of his children. He tweeted, “I am ecstatic to share with you all the two most wonderful additions to my life, my children and lifelines; Roohi and Yash. I feel enormously blessed to be a parent to these pieces of my heart who were welcomed into this world with the help of the marvels of medical science.” He has named them “Yash” (after his father, founder of Dharma Productions, late Yash Johar) and “Roohi” (an anagram of his mother’s name, Hiroo Johar).

The news was kept very confidential and only Karan’s closest friends were knowing about it.According to a report by NDTV, Gauri Khan, Kareena Kapoor and fashion designer Manish Malhotra were aware about KJo’s decision.

The babies were born at Masrani Hospital in Andheri West on February 7. Shahrukh Khan who is a close friend of Karan had his son Abram being delivered in the same hospital via surrogacy.

More than his films, Karan Johar has always been in the limelight for his sexual orientation.Even though every other person is assured of him being a gay,KJo has never opened up about his sexuality. In a chat show with Simi Garewal, when he was asked this question, he replied that it’s none of anyone’s business to know his sexuality. There were rumours about him dating the television queen Ekta Kapoor but that too could not work out.

Karan has always created controversies and has given way to many juicy scandals. In an interview when Karan was asked about being single, Karan said, “If you are single and 39, then obviously there will be conjectures about your sexual orientation. I am not worried about that, I am comfortable with all of rumours. I am comfortable with their perception of my sexual orientation. Nobody knows what I stand for in my personal life and I like to keep it that way.”

Seeing that he is not meant for romantic relationships and commitments, Karan decided to become a father via surrogacy. The film fraternity and his friends happily welcomed his decision and congratulated him. Alia Bhatt and Varun dhawan were the first ones to give their wishes to their producer Daddy and newly born Yash and Roohi.

However, the latest reports reveal that the babies could go home only after two weeks. The kids are in the NICU as they were born two months premature and still need medical attention.
